Meet the Owner: Christine Freberg, MEd, LPC
I am a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of South Carolina as well as the state of Texas. I obtained my Master of Education from the University of Oklahoma in 2011. I have been practicing as a licensed therapist for over 12 years and consider it an honor to listen to the stories and challenges of my clients and help them achieve a healthier and more empowered state of mental health. This is my life's calling and I couldn't think of anything greater than the profession I chose to enter into.
My formal education included clinical training at the University of Oklahoma Mental Health Clinic as well as the Oklahoma Department of Corrections. From there, I went on to work at inpatient children's hospitals, the state prison system, psychiatric hospital care, non-profit counseling in the field of children and families, domestic violence, co-parenting groups and courses, cancer support as well as Christian counseling services. In the spring of 2020 I took a step out of management to raise my three children at home. As my children grew, I couldn't stay away from my other passion for long....
Empowered Life Counseling was born out of the idea that therapy services can have a transformative and profound effect on an individual. I am constantly in awe of the powerful results my clients are able to achieve through their hard work in session. By building a collaborative and supportive relationship together, we are able to help provide relief and find solutions to ongoing challenges or maladaptive thoughts/behaviors. My clinical training includes cognitive therapy, trauma-focused therapy, domestic violence, high-conflict marital therapy, and a strong background in co-parenting, seperation, blended families and fatherhood initiatives. Given my additional experience and training in work through Christian churches, I am able to incorporate a strong biblical foundation and worldview that can be utilized during session.
In my free time, I enjoy spending time with my husband and three children, gardening, taking walks on the beach, working out and taking the family dogs on long walks.
